Manchester United vs Burnley Prediction (27.04.2024)

We’re in the endgame now, ladies and gentlemen. The Premier League season is entering the final furlong with just a handful of games remaining for clubs up and down English football’s top tier. Whether it be the title race, the relegation battle or anything in between, there’s still a lot left to be determined. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Manchester United and Burnley.

Manchester United supporters have spent the last decade experiencing brief moments of joy, but for the most part, their inconsistency has really hurt them on the pitch. Erik ten Hag is the latest manager to try and make a difference at Old Trafford, but there are still far more questions than answers for the Red Devils as we approach a critical few months for them - and we mean critical.

Following a 4-3 loss to Chelsea, Manchester United were held to draws with Liverpool and Bournemouth. They went on to require a penalty shootout to avoid embarrassment against Coventry in the FA Cup, and then against Sheffield United, they came from behind to win 4-2.

We’re at the point now where it’s okay for Burnley fans to start panicking. The Clarets enjoyed a really strong run in the Championship but unfortunately for their loyal fanbase, they haven’t been able to make a smooth transition back into the top flight. Vincent Kompany will continue to fight, but it’s easy to understand why there’s so much uncertainty surrounding the club.

Following a 2-1 win over Brentford, Burnley were held to a point by Chelsea and Wolves. From there, they lost 1-0 to Everton, drew 1-1 at home to Brighton, and pulled off a really important 4-1 win on the road to Sheffield United.

Burnley are more than good enough to spring an upset here, but the big problem they have is that the Red Devils have this ability to carve out late goals against sides in the bottom half - for better or worse. In terms of a prediction, we’re going to shoot for a narrow Manchester United win.
