Liverpool vs Burnley Prediction (10.02.2024)

The Premier League is back with a full set of weekend fixtures as we return to regularly scheduled programming to continue the month of February. There are so many things up in the air at both ends of the table but hopefully, in the weeks ahead, we’ll start to get a bit more clarity. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fun clash between Liverpool and Burnley.

Well, it’s official: Jurgen Klopp will leave Liverpool at the end of the season. It’s a tough pill for their fans to swallow but as we look ahead to the next few months, it certainly seems as if there’s a chance for the German to go out in style. They are competing on four fronts right now, and at the moment, they’re leading the charge in the Premier League title race.

Unfortunately for Liverpool fans, their side produced one of their worst performances of the season on Sunday as they slipped to a 3-1 defeat against Arsenal. In truth, they’re probably lucky that it wasn’t a lot worse than that.

We’re at the point now where it’s okay for Burnley fans to start panicking. The Clarets enjoyed a really strong run in the Championship but unfortunately for their loyal fanbase, they haven’t been able to make a smooth transition back into the top flight. Vincent Kompany will continue to fight, but it’s easy to understand why there’s so much uncertainty surrounding the club.

While Burnley did go 2-0 down at home to Fulham, they showed the kind of resilience they need to make a real fight of things in the relegation battle. David Datro Fofana scored twice in 20 minutes to give them a much needed point in a 2-2 draw.

Burnley play some nice football and they’re probably going to have a handful of big chances here, but in our view, there’s only one way this is going to go. We’re going to predict a Liverpool win here and by the time we reach the FT whistle, we don’t think it’ll be particularly close.
