Burnley vs Brentford Prediction (16.03.2024)

We’re deep into the final few months of the Premier League campaign and this is where business is really going to pick up. There’s a whole lot to play for at both ends of the table, and it’s clear to see that every single point matters between now and the end of May. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fascinating clash between Burnley and Brentford.

We’re at the point now where it’s okay for Burnley fans to start panicking. The Clarets enjoyed a really strong run in the Championship but unfortunately for their loyal fanbase, they haven’t been able to make a smooth transition back into the top flight. Vincent Kompany will continue to fight, but it’s easy to understand why there’s so much uncertainty surrounding the club.

Burnley took a trip to the capital last weekend as they faced West Ham United. They were able to race into a 2-0 lead with many believing they were on their way to a much-needed win, but instead, the Hammers fought back to earn a 2-2 draw.

For the first time since being promoted to the Premier League, it does feel as if there’s a bit of panic in the air at Brentford. As a club, they’re still being run very well, and they aren’t in any immediate danger when it comes to the relegation battle. At the same time, it only takes one bad run of form to lead you down the wrong path, and the Bees have shown some real weaknesses lately.

Brentford did a great job of pushing back against Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday but ultimately, they didn’t do enough to get the result they wanted, losing 2-1 courtesy of a late Gunners goal.

Both of these sides are desperate for big results, but Burnley are the ones who appear to be on a one-way trip back to the Championship. This is going to be a tense and nervy affair, in our book, and in terms of a prediction, we think we’re going to shoot for a draw.
