The Premier League continues to roll through the month of February with a parade of exciting fixtures to come in the next few weeks. The picture is starting to get a bit clearer at both ends of the table, but with so much football left to be played between now and May, anything can happen. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be an exciting clash between Manchester City and Brentford.
Manchester City Form GuideManchester City are once again considered to be the clear favourites to win the Premier League title, and it’s not hard to see why. Pep Guardiola has built an absolute juggernaut of a squad and as we look ahead to the future, you’d have to imagine that the only big question mark is surrounding the punishment they could receive for their financial charges off the pitch.
It goes without saying that Manchester City are a force of nature, but against Chelsea, they just weren’t able to get firing in front of goal. They went 1-0 down so fighting back to claim a 1-1 draw is certainly a bonus, but in the grand scheme of the title race, it could hurt them.
Brentford Form GuideFor the first time since being promoted to the Premier League, it does feel as if there’s a bit of panic in the air at Brentford. As a club, they’re still being run very well, and they aren’t in any immediate danger when it comes to the relegation battle. At the same time, it only takes one bad run of form to lead you down the wrong path, and the Bees have shown some real weaknesses lately.
The return of Ivan Toney is certainly helping Brentford and that was made evident by his goal against Liverpool last weekend. With that being said, the team still struggled massively on the defensive end, slipping to an emphatic 4-1 defeat at home.
Match PredictionBrentford may well be able to put up a fight and they might find some success with set pieces - but let’s face it, there’s only one way this result is going. The hosts need to get back on the winning trail and we believe they’ll do that, which is why we’re predicting a Manchester City win.
