We’re in the endgame now, ladies and gentlemen. The Premier League season is entering the final furlong with just a handful of games remaining for clubs up and down English football’s top tier. Whether it be the title race, the relegation battle or anything in between, there’s still a lot left to be determined. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Luton Town and Brentford.
Luton Form GuideLuton Town fans are on cloud nine right now as they continue to enjoy life in the Premier League. When you put that alongside their success in the FA Cup, we’d say this is shaping up to be a pretty fun season for the Hatters. The priority, of course, is staying in the top flight, and we’d say they are looking good in that quest as we head into the final stretch of the season.
After a 1-1 draw at home to Nottingham Forest, Luton fell to defeats against Tottenham and Arsenal in North London. They did rebound nicely with a 2-1 win at home to Bournemouth, prior to falling short in a 5-1 defeat courtesy of champions Manchester City.
Brentford Form GuideFor the first time since being promoted to the Premier League, it does feel as if there’s a bit of panic in the air at Brentford. As a club, they’re still being run very well, and they aren’t in any immediate danger when it comes to the relegation battle. At the same time, it only takes one bad run of form to lead you down the wrong path, and the Bees have shown some real weaknesses lately.
Following losses to Arsenal and Burnley, Brentford drew with Manchester United, Brighton and Aston Villa. They were able to keep that unbeaten run going last weekend, as they played host to Sheffield United - who they defeated 2-0 after scoring twice in the second half.
Match PredictionLuton will be slightly more desperate out of the two here but Brentford know that a loss could drag them kicking and screaming back into the relegation scrap. This is going to be a really cagey encounter, and in terms of a prediction, we’re going to shoot for a draw.
