Botswana vs Guinea Prediction (21.11.2023)

On Tuesday afternoon, Botswana and Guinea clash in Group G of African World Cup qualifying.

Didier Gomes Da Rosa’s team kicked off their qualifying campaign with a 3-2 home defeat by Mozambique. The defeat means that the home team has won just once in their last six international outings.

It continued a run of relatively high-scoring games, as three of their last four international matches have produced over 2.5 goals.

Botswana will be looking to improve their record in World Cup qualifying as they head into this clash on the back of a four-game winless run, including suffering three defeats and claiming just one draw.

Their main weakness of late has been in attack, as they have failed to score in three of their last four qualifiers.

The Mozambique defeat ended a five-game unbeaten run on home soil for Botswana in qualifying. The game continued a prolific run in front of goal in home qualifiers for the home side, though, as they have scored at least two goals in five of their previous six matches.

The visitors extended their recent unbeaten run to four games, recording a 2-1 home win over Uganda in their World Cup qualifying opener. The victory ended a nine-game winless run for Guinea in World Cup qualifiers.

Guinea have been poor travellers lately, as they are winless in their previous six qualifiers away from home, having suffered four defeats and picked up just two draws.

Botswana has a decent recent home record in qualifying, while Guinea are not great away from home. It could be a relatively close game, but I do believe it will produce goals, so the bet I am backing is over 2.5 goals scored.
