We have five Serie A games on Sunday, and right in the middle of the schedule we have this one, where top four chasing Bologna host Lecce, who are currently just below mid table. To add further interest to the game, both teams come here on the back of a win last weekend.
Bologna Form GuideBologna have been going along really well this season, they'll be thrilled with their output, and they spent a fair bit of time inside the top four. But they are no longer there, they start the weekend in 6th, and it could be worse by the time they play this game on Sunday. But the good news is that they are just three points out of the top four, so certainly within touching distance.
Bologna won 4-2 last weekend against Sassuolo, a victory that felt like they were beginning to get back on track. Before that, it wasn't as good, a draw against AC Milan, which was fine, but then a loss to Cagliari, which wasn't as good, and not what they need if they want to get back in the top four.
Lecce Form GuideLecce are just below mid table, and at the moment, they don't need to worry about the relegation zone. There is a chance they could ultimately drop and get involved, but I think they're too good for that, so I don't see it happening, as we begin the weekend, the gap between them and the relegation zone is six points.
Lecce extended that with a really good win last weekend, a 3-2 success at home to Fiorentina. No one else, from 8th to 20th in the standings, recorded a win last week, so that really helped them move forward. But before that, they lost three in a row, to Genoa, Juventus and Lazio.
Match PredictionI am going to side with Bologna to win this game. They've got a lot more quality, and while Lecce come here on the back of a good win last week, they're back away from home here, where they aren't as good, so I'll take Bologna for the win.
