Of the six games in action from the Championship on Tuesday night, we've got the league leaders Preston. They have been excellent so far, the only team to have not been beaten too, after their rivals here Birmingham, were beaten at the weekend. Both come here in the top six, and that should lead to a good game.
Preston Form GuideIt's been sublime from Preston so far. Narrowly missing out on the playoffs last season, they've certainly come into this season with renewed ambition and fight, to try and go better. The league is tougher this time around, but they've not shown any sign of stopping, and lead the way with 16 points from their first six games.
Since a draw on the opening day, they've been perfect. Five wins in a row, three at home, two away from home and both away games saw them keep a clean sheet. They won 2-1 on Saturday at home to Plymouth, a decent side in the league, and should arrive here absolutely brimming with confidence right now.
Birmingham Form GuideGiven their change in the summer, there was optimism and hope around Birmingham City Football Club for the first time in years, but I didn't expect such a big change when it came to their results. They've been excellent, come into the weekend in 6th position, and were the only unbeaten team alongside Preston before the weekend when they lost.
Birmingham lost 2-0 away at Watford, and after a home 1-1 draw with Millwall before the international break, head here two games without a win. But there's plenty of positives and yes, this is going to be an incredibly tough game, but Birmingham can give as good as they get here.
Match PredictionTwo sides overachieving so far, and that should make for a good game. I will go with Preston as the narrow winners, I think this will be a tough test for them, but they keep finding a way to get the job done, and at home again, I will back them to repeat that and take another three points here.
