Austria vs France Prediction (17.06.2024)

Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come - UEFA Euro 2024 is upon us. The very best nations from across the continent of Europe will compete with one another for the right to be called champions. There are some great teams who are ready to lay it all on the line in the name of greatness, and we can’t wait to see it. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Austria and France.

They’ve always been a dangerous kind of opponent, but Austria haven’t quite been able to get over the hump and become a consistent force. The likes of David Alaba have always pushed hard for them to get to that next level but for now, they’re just a ‘middle of the road’ team in Europe, always striving to prove they can get out of the shadow of some of their neighbours.

Austria were part of Group F which, in many ways, was pretty tricky on paper. Alas, they didn’t let it get to them, as they wound up finishing 2nd behind Belgium. They only lost one game throughout the entire campaign, which is impressive given Sweden were also in their group.

Les Bleus fought hard to keep hold of their position as world champions but in Qatar, they wound up falling at the final hurdle. The next step in their journey takes them to the Euros, a competition that hasn’t been great to them in recent years. They still have one of the best squads in world football, though, so you can imagine they’ll be feeling somewhat confident.

France did pretty well in the end as they went their entire qualifying campaign unbeaten. They finished top of Group B by four points with the Netherlands trailing behind, they won seven of their eight games, and they conceded just three goals while scoring 29.

We have a feeling that these two sides are going to be pretty trepidatious to kickstart the campaign. They both have the ability to cause problems for the other, but it’s all about easing into the tournament at this point. So, for that reason, we’re going to shoot for under 2.5 goals scored.
