Serie A provides three games on Saturday to enjoy, and the first to kick off is a clash that involves both the top four race and the relegation battle. Atalanta are the hosts, hoping to bag a top four spot this season, and they take on Udinese, a team sitting just above the relegation zone right now.
Atalanta Form GuideCurrently in 5th, one point off the top four, you'd think it had been a positive season for Atalanta so far, but I think they'll be a little disappointed with their position right now. That's because I don't think they've been anywhere near consistent enough, and will feel they've let points slip in games already.
But they are playing better recently, unbeaten in three, and here on the back of three wins, one draw and one defeat from their last five games. They last played a couple of weeks ago, but won in style, beating Frosinone 5-0 at home, a game they controlled from the off, and never looked back.
Udinese Form GuideAt the opposite end of the table you will find Udinese, a team who start the weekend in 16th, they've only won two games though, and are outside of the relegation zone due to the fact they've drawn 12. That's working for now, but I do wonder if it will last an entire season, the three teams below them have all won four games so far.
One of those wins came in their last five, a game a few weeks back when they won 3-0 at home to Bologna, a side going well, so that was a real surprise. But last weekend they lost at home to AC Milan, before that drew with Fiorentina and before that, lost to Lazio. This is another tough game against good opposition for them.
Match PredictionI can't see past a win for Atalanta here, I think they are going to be too strong and especially with the home crowd behind them, can do enough to win this game, so it's a home win here for me.
