We have five games from Serie A on Sunday, and this is the fourth of those to kick off, so later in the day. It should be a good one too, because we've got two teams going head to head who arrive here in really good form. Atalanta are the visitors, as they keep pushing for the top four, while Genoa are in mid table right now.
Genoa Form GuideGenoa are playing better than their league position suggests at the moment, and come here on the back of a really nice unbeaten run in the league. They are eight games unbeaten, the last time they lost was against Monza on December 10th, so it's been a two month run now for them, which they'll be thrilled about.
It's been three wins and five draws in that period, but that's fine, given their league position, it's all about maintaining and getting points on the board often for Genoa, which is what they're doing. Genoa drew last weekend in a 0-0 away game with Empoli, but won at home the week before, beating Lecce 2-1.
Atalanta Form GuideJust like Genoa, Atalanta have also been in good form recently, but their league position does tell that story, as they are up in 4th, with 39 points on the board. The top four is the aim for this team, and so far, they're nailing it, and they also come here on a good run, they've gone seven unbeaten in all competitions, and won six of those with just one draw, so it's seen a lot more wins than the run of Genoa.
Last weekend, Atalanta won 3-1 at home to Lazio, before that, they won 2-0 at home to Udinese and before that, they won 5-0 at home to Frosinone, so it's three league wins in a row for them.
Match PredictionI've got great respect for what Genoa have done, and the unbeaten run they have been on, and I think they'll give it a good go here on Sunday. But I don't think they have enough. Atalanta are going along just as well, winning more, in the top four, and I think they pass the test here, and take another big three points home with them.
