The Premier League is back once again this weekend as we head into a month that could prove to be a defining one for many fans of teams in English football’s top flight - December. There are a whole lot of games to cover in the weeks ahead and today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fun encounter between Bournemouth and Aston Villa.
Bournemouth Form GuideBournemouth have fancy owners, a fancy manager and, unfortunately, lost momentum. The Cherries just do not seem to have the same spark they did under Gary O’Neil and while there are certainly ways in which they can turn the ship around, there’s no denying that they are going to be one of the teams mentioned in the relegation mix in the months ahead.
Bournemouth’s loss to Wolves was followed up with a win over Burnley, but they soon slipped back to losing ways against Liverpool and Manchester City. The tough times didn’t last long, though, as they’ve since picked up big victories over Newcastle and Sheffield United.
Aston Villa Form GuideAston Villa are a club transformed under Unai Emery. They really do feel like a complete unit for the first time in a long time, and their reward is the return of European football to Villa Park. Given what they’ve been able to do in the summer transfer window, many are wondering just how far up the table they can go. Right now, it feels like the sky is the limit for the Midlanders.
Across their last six games, a 2-0 loss to Nottingham Forest has been the only anomaly for Aston Villa. Outside of that they’ve been able to defeat AZ Alkmaar (twice), Luton, Fulham and, most recently, Tottenham.
Match PredictionBournemouth are going to put up a really good fight in this one and we honestly believe they’ll take Villa to the limit. However, we do think there’s something to be said for the kind of momentum that Emery’s boys have right now, which is why we’re predicting an Aston Villa win.
