Serie A is back this weekend, and the majority of games will take place on Sunday, where a feast of football awaits fans. In the very last game of Sunday, Roma host Empoli, with both teams heading here looking to bag their first win of the season, with the home side in particular, coming here a little under pressure.
Roma Form GuideIt's been an incredibly disappointing start for Roma, who have just one point from their first three games, and will be hoping that the international break has given them time for a reset, and to come here a much better team. The one point they have came from the first day of the season, with a home draw against Salernitana.
But since then, it's been two losses. They can be excused for the most recent, a 2-1 loss to AC Milan who are going well, and are obviously a good team, but before that, they were beaten by Verona 2-1, away from home. That wasn't as good, and we need to see a lot more from Roma, if they want to show their top four claims.
Empoli Form GuideWhile the start for Roma has been bad, it's been worse for Empoli, they head into week four of the Serie A season as the only team who do not have a point so far. It's three losses in a row, and if it could get any worse for them, then they've actually not scored a goal so far, things drastically need to improve.
A home defeat to Verona came first, while their second home defeat came last time out, when they played against Juventus. In the middle, they went away from home and lost against Monza. Disappointing in them all, they've conceded five goals, and to say they have a lot to work on would be an understatement.
Match PredictionBoth sides are in a tough spot, but I am going to side with Roma as the winners here. I think they'll eventually come good, even if not making the top four, and even Roma at a lower level than normal should be good enough to get the better of an Empoli team who are really struggling at the moment.
