The Premier League is back with a full set of weekend fixtures as we return to regularly scheduled programming to begin the month of February. There are so many things up in the air at both ends of the table but hopefully, in the weeks ahead, we’ll start to get a bit more clarity. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fun clash between Arsenal and Liverpool.
Arsenal Form GuideWhile Arsenal are certainly still considered one of the favourites for the title, recent form suggests they aren’t ahead of Manchester City or Liverpool right now. Mikel Arteta knows where the weak spots are in his side and hopefully, he’s made the most of the time off they’ve had. Now, it’s a case of seeing how the Gunners can respond on the pitch.
Arsenal left it late in the second half but they were able to get the better of Nottingham Forest on the road. They took a 2-0 lead and while Forest got one back to set up quite the finale, they held on to secure a solid 2-1 win.
Liverpool Form GuideWell, it’s official: Jurgen Klopp will leave Liverpool at the end of the season. It’s a tough pill for their fans to swallow but as we look ahead to the next few months, it certainly seems as if there’s a chance for the German to go out in style. They are competing on four fronts right now, and at the moment, they’re leading the charge in the Premier League title race.
Sometimes, you need to go out there and make a real statement - and that’s exactly what Liverpool did against Chelsea. They demolished the Blues in more ways than one, rattling off four goals in a really impressive win.
Match PredictionIn terms of overall quality, we really do think that these sides are pretty evenly matched. City will be watching on with interest, knowing one of their two main rivals will drop points - and we actually think it’ll be both, as we predict an eventful draw.
