Burnley vs Arsenal Prediction (17.02.2024)

The Premier League is back this weekend with a full slate of fixtures as we continue through the month of February. There’s still a lot left to figure out this season at both ends of the table and, as always, English football’s top tier continues to throw up surprises in every direction. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fun encounter between Burnley and Arsenal.

We’re at the point now where it’s okay for Burnley fans to start panicking. The Clarets enjoyed a really strong run in the Championship but unfortunately for their loyal fanbase, they haven’t been able to make a smooth transition back into the top flight. Vincent Kompany will continue to fight, but it’s easy to understand why there’s so much uncertainty surrounding the club.

In their clash with Liverpool, Burnley deserve praise for putting up a good scrap. However, it wasn’t quite enough, and they fell to a 3-1 defeat as fans continue to wonder what’s next for them as they attempt to make the adjustments necessary for survival.

While Arsenal are certainly still considered one of the favourites for the title, recent form suggests they aren’t ahead of Manchester City or Liverpool right now. Mikel Arteta knows where the weak spots are in his side and hopefully, he’s made the most of the time off they’ve had. Now, it’s a case of seeing how the Gunners can respond on the pitch.

From beginning to end in their game with West Ham, Arsenal were in full control. They raced out to a commanding lead in the first half and they didn’t take their foot off the gas in the second, with the end result being a comprehensive and dominant 6-0 victory.

We honestly believe this is going to be a really tight game between two intriguing teams with fun styles. Alas, there’s still a fairly notable gap in quality, and we believe that’s going to shine through in the last 15-20 minutes with Arsenal coming away with a late win.
