Tottenham Hotspur will attempt to create some more UEFA Champions League magic this week when they go head to head with AC Milan.

The Antonio Conte era, to put it lightly, hasn’t quite been going to plan for Tottenham Hotspur. In addition to not being able to challenge for silverware, Spurs also appear to be quite stagnant in terms of their performances on the pitch. They just don’t possess the same level of understanding or quality as their rivals, and that’s something they desperately need to fix.

After being humbled by Leicester, Spurs fell to a 1-0 loss against AC Milan in the first leg of this tie. They did bounce back with wins over Chelsea and West Ham, only to slip back into further disappointment in the form of 1-0 losses to Sheffield United and Wolves.

After finally climbing back to the top of Italian football by winning Serie A, AC Milan are struggling to maintain that momentum this season. They’ll be scratching and clawing in an attempt to just qualify for next season’s competition but for the time being, they’ll fancy their chances as dark horses to potentially go all the way to the final.

Milan were unable to overcome their rivals on derby day as they lost 1-0 to Inter Milan last month. They did rebound well, though, rattling off four wins over Torino, Tottenham, Monza and Atalanta before being beaten 2-1 away at Fiorentina over the weekend.

Dier’s suspension means he will join Lloris, Bissouma, Sessegnon and Bentancur in missing out here, with all four being injured.

Ibrahimovic, Bakayoko, Diaz and Gabbia will all either be ineligible to play or injured for the Italians.

Tottenham are going to give as good as they get here with a passionate home crowd in North London to try and see them over the line. We do think they’ll be able to take the lead early but ultimately, a late Milan equaliser will leave us with a draw, sending the hosts out.
