At the time of writing, nothing has officially been confirmed, but it is expected that Swansea City will appoint a new boss before their next game, and it will be Luke Williams, of Notts County. It looks a shrewd move, a manager who has a very specific style of football, drawing plaudits from all over the EFL. He may or may not be in charge on the bench when this game comes around, but he will be at the club, something I expect will give Swansea a big lift ahead of their home tie with Morecambe on Saturday.
Swansea City Form GuideSwansea are in 16th in the Championship, and it's been a few weeks since they sacked Michael Duff. They've not played too badly since that, and took seven points over the Christmas period, with two wins, one draw and one defeat. There's plenty of work to do, but a talented squad for Williams to work with.
The Swans won 1-0 at home to promotion chasing West Brom on Monday, a really positive result on the back of a good away point at Coventry before that, the signs are there that this team is on the up.
Morecambe Form GuideMorecambe were relegated from League One last season, and have really struggled to get going after going down a tier. They are in 17th position, with just nine wins from 24 games and while they were not amongst the favourites for promotion, much better was expected from them.
They failed to win over the Christmas period, with two draws and two losses from four games. The most recent of those was a 2-2 home draw with Harrogate, but before that they suffered a big loss when they lost 5-0 away at Notts County, the team that Swansea are taking new boss Luke Williams from.
Match PredictionI am siding with the Championship team Swansea here. Buoyed by the arrival of their new boss, I think they will have way too much for League Two strugglers Morecambe.
