Lecce vs Spezia Prediction (21.05.2023)

A huge relegation clash takes place on Sunday in Serie A, with Lecce hosting Spezia as both teams look to survive in the top flight this season, and avoid Serie B.

As we go into the weekend, Lecce are above the relegation zone, and they have a two point cushion. But things could change, and one of those below them chasing is Spezia, who would actually go ahead of them with a win here, showing just how big a game this really is.

Last weekend, Lecce drew 2-2 and picked up a point but that was an excellent result as it came away at Lazio, a team fighting for the top four. That's something to build on, as Lecce have three games to try and survive in Serie A, and avoid the drop.

Spezia come into the weekend as one of the teams occupying the three relegation spots. They are only there on goal difference though, and if things go their way this weekend, they will climb out of danger. Verona are above on goal difference only, and opponents here, Lecce, are just two ahead.

Last weekend, Spezia ended a three game losing streak with a huge win over a big opponent. That came against AC Milan, a home game that they won 2-0, and if they ever needed a boost for the final push, that game would have certainly given them that, it is very timely.

A huge game at the bottom of Serie A and both teams know just how valuable three points would really be for them. However, my tip is that neither of them take all three, and instead, have to settle for a point each and draw the game. It helps Lecce better than Spezia, and the home side may settle for it, if this game is tied heading into the final moments.
