Ipswich vs Rotherham Prediction (20.02.2024)

This game is going to impact the top and bottom of the Championship table, one of four games to take place on Tuesday night in the English second tier. Ipswich are the home side, currently in 4th and Rotherham are the visitors, down in 24th, the bottom of the entire table.

Many people were wondering whether Ipswich would have a blip or not this season, and recently, they've had one. However, two really good wins in their last two games, it could be over. A chance to get another win here, show they are back, and close in again on the top two, is what's awaiting Ipswich on Tuesday night.

Two wins in four days have Ipswich heading forward once again. They won 4-0 away at Millwall last Wednesday, and then at the weekend, won 2-1 away against Swansea on Saturday. Returning home here, they'll look to make it three in a row, and this is the game in hand they have over current 2nd placed side, Leeds.

I get the feeling that Rotherham are already relegated, and their players, staff and fans already know it. There's 14 games to go in the season, they're 14 points from safety, so need a lot of wins to make it out. When you consider they've only had three wins all season, that seems incredibly unlikely to happen.

They lost at home to Watford on Saturday, a game I thought they had a chance to get something from. The effort was there, but the quality was certainly lacking. They've now lost four in a row, and face one of the top sides in this league, so it could well be five in a row by the time we finish on Tuesday.

This really should be a comfortably evening for Ipswich, who have looked much more like we expect in the last two games. I am going to back them on the -1.5 Asian handicap line, to win by two goals or more in this one.
