The Championship returns to action this weekend and we've got a huge game at the bottom of the table as Wigan host QPR on Saturday.
Wigan Form GuideWe've seen problems on and off the field for Wigan, which have not aided their case for survival this season. After a decent start back in August, it's been dreadful from them, especially recently. They've failed to win any of their last six games, drawing three and losing three.
Before the international break, there was a lot of talk around off the field issues at Wigan, but on the field they did pick up two draws. Those were both god results too, at home to Coventry and away at Watford, both games ending 0-0. Going into the weekend, they are five points off safety, those draws are good, but wins are needed.
QPR Form GuideA fantastic start by QPR early in the season saw them near the top of the table. Since then, it's been very poor, so much so that they are now in the relegation battle, even if they're safe for now. Coming into the weekend, QPR are three places above the dropzone, and have a six point cushion, but that could soon change if they stay in their current form.
From their last six games, they've won one and lost five, before the international break they suffered a bad home defeat against Birmingham, a team in the bottom half, and were thumped 6-1 away at Blackpool, a team in the relegation zone themselves. Things need to improve, as the chasing pack keep coming.
Match PredictionA big game at the bottom, two teams who need three points to aid their survival chances, and I'm going with the home team Wigan to win this. Neither team are doing great, but despite not winning recently, Wigan are arguably in better form, with two good draws before the international break, so it's a Wigan win for me.
