Serbia vs Montenegro Prediction (17.10.2023)

UEFA Euro 2024 will take place next summer and the road to qualifying for that tournament continues this week with the latest international break. As clubs across the continent hit the pause button on their domestic leagues, plenty of countries will be hoping to edge closer to the finals. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fun encounter between Serbia and Montenegro.

Bizarrely, despite qualifying for three of the last four World Cup tournaments, Serbia haven’t been able to qualify for the Euros since breaking away from Montenegro. They certainly have a good structure and many would argue that they have an impressive squad, but sometimes, that isn’t always enough - although, you can bet they’ll be putting their best foot forward in this one.

When talking about Montenegro alongside Serbia, it’s clear and obvious to see that they are the minnows out of the two - if there was to be such a title. They’ve certainly made some progress here and there which is obvious for all to see, but a real run at reaching big tournaments feels quite far off for now. They need superstars, and they haven’t got the infrastructure for that right now.

This is bound to be a spirited display between two nations that have a great deal of history between them. Montenegro will feel the need to make a statement and cause the hosts some problems, but ultimately, we anticipate that the final result will be a Serbia win here.
