The UEFA Champions League is back in our lives this week with all 32 clubs involved having two games remaining in their push for the knockouts. There’s a whole lot left to be determined across the next two matchdays and today, we’re going to take a look at what we expect to be a really entertaining clash as Galatasaray lock horns with Manchester United.

Following on from a disastrous 2021/22 campaign, Galatasaray knew they had to come back fighting - and that’s precisely what they did. They are now once again the reigning champions of Turkish football and they have their eyes firmly set on a strong run in Europe. Of course, whether or not it comes off will largely depend on if their star players can really start firing consistently.

Gala scored two late goals to earn a 2-2 draw at home to Copenhagen, which could prove to be really critical. From there, they came from behind to earn a magical 3-2 win away at Manchester United. Unfortunately, they’ve since suffered consecutive defeats courtesy of Bayern Munich.

Manchester United supporters probably felt as if their League Cup win last season was a sign that times were changing for the better - but it seems as if there are more than a few hurdles they still have to overcome. The fans aren’t happy with the owners, there are numerous scandals off the pitch, and Erik ten Hag has more pressure on his shoulders than ever before.

United played out a seven-goal thriller with Bayern Munich in September, falling to a 4-3 defeat. From there, they lost again, this time against Galatasaray in a 3-2 defeat. They did earn a dramatic 1-0 win over Copenhagen, but weeks later, they lost 4-3 again - in a Copenhagen rematch.

Galatasaray are a really entertaining team to watch and when it comes to intimidating your opponents, they have the perfect fanbase and stadium for that. Alas, there’s something telling us that the visitors will pull off another late miracle, leading us down the path of a Manchester United win.
