While Inter Milan were playing in the Italian Super Cup, Juventus were at home taking advantage and moving to the top of the league. They lead the way by a point, and look to keep that in place this weekend. They are at home looking to do so, and welcome relegation threatened Empoli, a team who are second from bottom and in need of points.
Juventus Form GuideI've been really impressed with what Juventus have done all season, but I think in particular they have taken things up another level in recent weeks. They have 52 points from 21 games, have lost just once and won 16 times. They have won their last five straight in the league, and won twice in the cup during that run, so it's seven wins from seven in all competitions recently.
Four of those seven wins, including the last three in a row, have all come with a clean sheet attached, to further add to how this team is playing right now. Last weekend they won 3-0 away at Lecce, before that, 3-0 at home to Sassuolo and won 4-0 in the Coppa Italia against Frosinone to round off the three games without a goal being conceded.
Empoli Form GuideI think the scrap for relegation this season is going to be a big one, and there will be plenty of teams involved. Empoli are in 19th, with 16 points, but are just three points off Sassuolo in 15th, that covers a total of five teams, two in the relegation zone and three outside, all covered by just three points from best placed to worst.
This is obviously going to be an incredibly tough task, but Empoli should come here with a bit of jump about them. They won last weekend, their fourth win of the season, and it was a big 3-0 vicotry over Monza, something they would love to use as a kickstart for the next few games.
Match PredictionI think Juventus can continue their excellent recent run and bag another win here. They've been excellent, are scoring plenty and not conceding. I am going to back Juventus on the Asian handicap -1.5 line, which is for them to win the game by two goals or more, something I think they can do.
