Hatayspor vs Fatih Karagümrük Prediction (02.02.2024)

The often unpredictable Turkish Super Lig is back once again this week as we enter the month of February. There’s still a lot left to be determined at both ends of the table, and that much is an understatement with the league being as chaotic as ever. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be another exciting clash as Hatayspor go head to head with Fatih Karagumruk.

Following the devastating impact of the Turkey-Syria earthquake, Hatayspor have had to deal with a lot of adversity. Now, to kickstart 2024, they’re hoping to push forward in a brighter direction. They haven’t been overly consistent up to this point but they certainly still have a lot of fire in them, and they’ll be scratching and clawing to keep their place in the top flight.

Despite having just three shots all game long, Hatayspor somehow managed to leave their game with Adana Demirspor as the winners. A Nani own goal just before half time got the ball rolling and from there, they held on against the wasteful hosts.

For the last few years, Fatih Karagumruk have spent their time back at the top table in the Super Lig. Last season, they were able to finish in 7th, which they were hoping would give them a great platform to build off of - but that hasn’t quite been the case. Now, they’re attempting to fend off the threat of relegation, and there’s no guarantee whatsoever that they’ll achieve that goal.

Following an uncertain season up to this point, Fatih Karagumruk finally put it all together at home to Rizespor over the weekend. They were ruthless in front of goal as they smashed the favourites 4-0 to vault themselves out of the relegation zone.

Both of these sides are coming off the back of big wins and it definitely feels like they’re building momentum - which can only be a good thing in a relegation scrap as tight as this one. In terms of a prediction, we’re going to shoot for over 2.5 goals scored.
