Huddersfield vs Coventry Prediction (29.03.2024)

Huddersfield are at home, fighting to stay in the league at the bottom, while Coventry are in the playoff battle, on the outside looking in.

Huddersfield are currently inside the bottom three, so as things stand, they're going down but only by goal difference, showing just how crucial every point is. If you are to ask me right now, I think Huddersfield will get out of trouble and survive, but there are just eight games left for them to do that.

They come here without a win in four, two draws and two defeats in that period. Before the break in their last game, they drew 0-0 away at bottom club Rotherham, their other draw was at the start of this four game run, a 1-1 home tie with Leeds. In the middle, two defeats, a 4-1 loss at home to West Brom and a 1-0 away loss at Cardiff.

Coventry begin the weekend in 8th, four points behind 6th placed Norwich, who they are trying to chase. But the good news is that have a game in hand, which takes them a lot closer, if they win it of course. They arrive on the back of two league wins, plus a massive FA Cup win, so momentum and confidence is certainly in their favour right now.

They won 3-2 in the FA Cup away from home against Premier League side Wolves in their last game, one that they won with two incredibly late goals. In the league, they've beaten Watford 2-1 away from home, and also bottom club Rotherham 5-0 at home, there is a lot to be happy about for this team right now.

This is a really big game, and if either team takes three points, they are going to be incredibly helpful. I am backing Coventry to do that, they're looking good again, could be peaking at the right time, and can take a massive step forward in their playoff bid with a win here.
