Belarus vs andorra Prediction (18.11.2023)

We’re back with the final international break of 2023 as we continue down the road to UEFA Euro 2024. It’s safe to say that things are really starting to heat up in pretty much every group as nations qualify and make their push to reach the playoffs. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be an intriguing battle between Belarus and Andorra.

As an independent nation, Belarus have never been able to qualify for a major international tournament - and even with this group not being the most exciting, they’ve still struggled to make their presence known. They’ve been able to pick up a few promising results but there needs to be a greater body of work on display for any conclusions to be drawn.

The last few games have seen Belarus prove that they can put in a shift when called upon. Firstly, they played host to Romania, and they were able to earn a 0-0 draw. Then, away to Switzerland, they surprised many by carving out a 3-3 result.

Andorra are the definition of minnows at the international level. A win, or even a draw, is considered a valuable result for them, and their fanbase is well aware of that. They don’t have the resources necessary to compete with the elite right now and while the Nations League certainly helps the smaller countries, they’re a long way away from where they need to be.

Andorra simply couldn’t keep up with Kosovo last month and as a result, they left with a 3-0 defeat. They proceeded to take on Romania and were handily beaten there too, dropping a 4-0 defeat on the road.

It certainly feels as if this is Belarus’ game to lose but at this point in qualifying, we don’t expect them to go all out in search of victory. This is the kind of game that is going to be difficult to watch in places, with our official prediction being under 2.5 goals scored.
