Nice vs Ajaccio Prediction (10.02.2023)

Nice will try and keep their strong run of form going when they play host to AC Ajaccio in Ligue 1 on Friday night.

Over the course of the last few years, Nice have gained a reputation for bringing through some incredible talent. Their rise to prominence saw them finish in the top five last season and while they started off stagnant this time around, they are beginning to put together the kind of results that prove why they belong amongst the elite.

A shocking loss to Le Puy Foot 43 knocked Nice out of the cup but since then, they’ve been on fire in the league. They battered Montpellier 6-1, drew 0-0 with Reims, and then went on a pretty memorable stretch that saw them defeat Lille, Lens and Marseille in the space of a week.

The long-awaited return to Ligue 1 football hasn’t gone swimmingly for AC Ajaccio thus far. They just can’t seem to find the kind of system that works for them and if they don’t get into a rhythm soon, they’ll be made to pay for it. Their relegation isn’t exactly guaranteed but now that January is over, we need to start seeing improvements.

To start off the month of February, Ajaccio beat Angers 2-1 away from home. Aside from that, there aren’t many positives to discuss. They have been beaten by Reims, Monaco, Toulouse, Lyon and Nantes and throughout that run, they have been on the receiving end of 14 goals.

Moffi will lead the line but Pepe is still out as a result of some knee problems. Atal is likely to be absent with Bard and Dante on the verge of suspensions.

Coutadeur has a groin problem whereas Mangani is suffering from a collapsed lung. Elsewhere, Diallo is suspended following a recent red card.

There is only one way we can picture this going and it isn’t going to end well for Ajaccio. The hosts are on fire in pretty much every way imaginable and they’re going to torch their opponents, with Nice running out comfortable winners.
