We’re in the endgame now, ladies and gentlemen. The Premier League season is entering the final furlong with just a handful of games remaining for clubs up and down English football’s top tier. Whether it be the title race, the relegation battle or anything in between, there’s still a lot left to be determined. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Chelsea and West Ham United.
Chelsea Form GuideChelsea have had another poor season and big questions are going to be raised over the future of Mauricio Pochettino. There are high expectations surrounding the Blues and there have been for well over two decades now. At the very least, they need to make a push for the top half - and the fact that we even have to say that shows just how far this historic club has fallen.
Since dispatching of Everton 6-0 in a dominant performance, Chelsea have looked uncertain in themselves. They suffered defeats to Manchester City and Arsenal, the latter of which being 5-0, before managing to earn a point against Aston Villa in a 2-2 draw.
West Ham Form GuideWest Ham United have had another solid season and although they won’t be finishing it off with another piece of European silverware, David Moyes can be proud of the job he’s done. At this point, they need to focus their attention on the future and what could be in store for them. Either way, the Hammers are in a much better position than they were just a few years ago.
Since defeating Wolves 2-1 away from home, West Ham have struggled. It started off with them being knocked out of the Europa League by Bayer Leverkusen to run alongside defeats to Fulham and Crystal Palace. They did, however, earn a 2-2 draw with Liverpool, although it could’ve easily been a win.
Match PredictionWe expect this to be a pretty competitive game between two sides who, in reality, are pretty much ready for the season to end. Chelsea and West Ham both have attacking players who can cause the other problems but in our view, the most likely outcome in this game is going to be a draw.
