Sheffield Utd - West Brom Tip 26-04-2023

FA Cup semi finalists Sheffield United are back in league action on Wednesday night, with a big home tie against West Brom.

It's back to the league for Sheffield United, after losing out to Manchester City in the FA Cup semi final at Wembley last weekend. They're in the driving seat for promotion to the Premier League, are in second place, and crucially, have four games left, two more than most others around them.

In the league, The Blades have won their last two games, and they both came at home. Most recently, they won 1-0 against Bristol City, while before that, they won with ease 4-1 against Cardiff. It's been good recently, they just need to get over the line and get back in the top tier now.

West Brom are in the playoff race, but perhaps not in the position where you would expect them to be. At one point, destined to be in, but now, on the outside. They've got 63 points, that makes them two outside of the playoffs, but they've a game in hand over most of the others around them, and this is that game.

They do come here on the back of a big defeat though, losing 2-1 at home to Sunderland on Sunday, another team in the playoff picture right now, so it was a double blow for them. Before that, West Brom won two in a row, and both came away from home, so they come here with confidence they can turn on the style away.

A big game on Wednesday night for both teams, but one where I am picking Sheffield United to get the win. On the back of two wins, after the distraction of their FA Cup semi final, they can jump right back on track here, and push for promotion with a win against West Brom.
