Bristol City host Rotherham in the Championship on Saturday, and it's a game between two teams who have had little to play for in a number of weeks now. Bristol City are in the middle of the table, while Rotherham are rock bottom, and with no chance of moving off it.
Bristol City Form GuideDespite having nothing to play for, I've been really impressed with the attitude on show from Bristol City, they've been consistent and in parts, have gone above that and played very well. They are in 12th as we head into the weekend, and could end up finishing inside the top half.
They come into this one on the back of a six game unbeaten run that has seen them win three and draw three. They went on a run of not conceding in the first four of those games, but have conceded in their last two, which have both been draws. Last weekend they drew 1-1 away at playoff chasing Norwich, so a fairly decent point there, and drew at home to Huddersfield before that.
Rotherham Form GuideRotherham moved quickly to appoint Steve Evans last week, he will take charge of the rest of the season, and for their League One campaign next season. He's been at the club before, and brought success and while there is nothing to play for now, this is a chance for players to impress ahead of next season, if they are intending to stay at the club.
Evans led Rotherham to a point last weekend in his first game in charge, drawing 0-0 at home to Birmingham. Before that, it was three defeats in a row under Leam Richardson, losing to Swansea and West Brom away and Plymouth at homme. They are going to finish bottom, but Evans would love to see some fight for the final two games.
Match PredictionI have to side with the home team Bristol City here. They're in good form, playing well and can get the better of Rotherham, a side who despite a new manager, are lacking the quality needed to play in the Championship.
