Both Plymouth and QPR are in the relegation battle this season, but with five games to go, both are currently on the outside, and on course to survive. I think QPR are going to be safe, but still have doubts over Plymouth, and whatever you think will happen, everyone will agree that these are three huge points up for grabs on Tuesday night.
Plymouth Form GuideBefore Friday night, I had huge concerns over Plymouth, but they picked up a massive three points away from home against bottom club Rotherham, and that's kept them alive. They have 44 points, Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham are in the bottom three with 42 points, so it's still all to play for, and all teams at the bottom have five games left.
Before that 1-0 win at Rotherham, Plymouth lost three in a row and to make it worse for them, they scored just one goal in those games. A 1-0 loss at home to Bristol City, 2-1 away loss at Norwich and 1-0 home loss to Preston made up that run. At home, it's bad, they've lost their last five home games, and not scored in any of them, which is incredibly worrying at this time of the season.
QPR Form GuideQPR are going in the opposite direction of Plymouth, previously in good form, but coming here on the back of a really poor defeat that could hurt them. They won two and took seven points from three games prior to Saturday, but lost 2-0 at home to Sheffield Wednesday, in the relegation zone, and it's going to be fascinating to see how they bounce back.
They have 46 points, four ahead of the bottom three, and I do think a win on Saturday would have been more than enough to keep them safe this season. In better news for them, before that defeat, QPR won 1-0 away at Swansea and 2-1 at home to Birmingham, getting vital points on the board.
Match PredictionThis game is huge, three massive points at stake. I think QPR will survive this season, and a win here would get them over the top, and that's something I think will happen. Yes, Plymouth won at the weekend, but they're a poor side, out of form, and I think they suffer defeat here, so it's QPR for me.
