Stoke and Plymouth both continue to hang above the relegation zone, and they are not safe yet. Three games to go, Stoke are three points ahead of danger and Plymouth are four. Big points are at stake here, both will want them but who will take them when the teams meet in Stoke on Saturday?
Stoke City Form GuideStoke have taken plenty of time to get going under Steven Schumacher, too long some would argue. But slowly they are getting there, and I do think he now has them in a position where they are tough to beat, if nothing else. But just two points ahead of Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday means more is needed, and they have three games to go.
The positive for Stoke is that they've lost just one of their last five and that was a 3-0 defeat at Swansea. But a win over Hull, and then three draws, against West Brom and fellow relegation sides Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday have helped. Of course, a win in either of those two games would have improved their position greatly.
Plymouth Form GuidePlymouth were on the brink of relegation, and one of my picks to go down, but they've come back to life, at a time when they needed it the most. Two wins and one draw from their last three games, seven points and they are now four clear of the drop zone, the job isn't finished yet, but fair play to them for how they've responded recently.
Plymouth won 1-0 at home to Leicester last Friday, a massive result against a team aiming for automatic promotion. Before that, a 1-1 tie with QPR, a team in the relegation zone, and a 1-0 win at Rotherham, a side already relegated. Big points at a big time, and they'll be looking for more here.
Match PredictionI think Plymouth get more too, and with how they are playing, the value is all on their side of this match up. I will take Plymouth on the double chance market here, covering a win or draw for them, I think they can take at least a point from this game.
