We’re in the endgame now, ladies and gentlemen. The Premier League season is entering the final furlong with just a handful of games remaining for clubs up and down English football’s top tier. Whether it be the title race, the relegation battle or anything in between, there’s still a lot left to be determined. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest.
Sheffield United Form GuideSheffield United’s relegation back to the Championship has been confirmed, as many expected. Unfortunately, they’re set to go down as one of the worst teams in the history of the Premier League - but Chris Wilder knew this was a possibility. At this point, it’ll be interesting to see how they’re able to bounce back, and what they can produce between now and the end of the season.
Across their last six games, United’s only positive result has been a 2-2 draw at home to Chelsea. Outside of that, they’ve suffered five fairly convincing defeats courtesy of Liverpool, Brentford, Burnley, Manchester United and, most recently, Newcastle, which sent them down.
Nottingham Forest Form GuideNottingham Forest have been through a great deal over the course of the campaign between points deductions, managerial changes and a whole lot of uncertainty around the club. Nuno Espirito Santo has done a solid enough job in charge but in order for the season to be seen as a success, they need to go out there in the next few games and really prove that they belong.
Since defeating Fulham 3-1 at the start of the month, Forest have been unable to get back in the win column. They only managed a 2-2 draw at home to out-of-form Wolves and in addition to that, they’ve suffered defeats to Tottenham, Everton and Manchester City.
Match PredictionUnited are already down, Forest need a big result to try and put some pressure on Luton and Burnley. All signs point to a victory for the boys from Nottingham, but we expect the Blades to go down swinging here. In our view, the most likely outcome in this one is over 2.5 goals scored.
