Hull City are hanging on to hopes of squeezing into the playoffs at the very end of the season, but they have just four games to go and a six point gap to close. On Saturday they head to London for an away day, and you get the feeling they need to come back with three points. Mid table Watford are their hosts.
Watford Form GuideAfter a few weeks without a win, Watford have taken a walk down the standings, but I don't think they've been playing too badly, and have been taking draws against some very good sides. Three games to go, they will miss out on the top half, an aim at the start of the season, but have a chance to finish well, starting with a win here.
But if they are to win here, that would be something they have not done for the last five games. They lost 3-2 at Southampton last weekend, a narrow miss, and before that, have drawn four games in a row. All four came against good teams though, getting points against Leeds, West Brom, Preston and Ipswich, so it's been a good run, despite no win.
Hull City Form GuideCan Hull do it? This is a tough ask for them, and would be for anyone, but they have a chance. Six off Norwich in 6th, but with a game in hand, which of course, Hull have to win. While not officially a must win game, I do think this game is close to that, a win here would keep the confidence rolling.
That's because last weekend, Hull scored a big 3-0 win over QPR to keep fighting. Before that, a draw with Middlesbrough and win away at Cardiff were good results, so it's seven points from their last three games, and still in with a chance of making the playoffs, and then potentially the Premier League.
Match PredictionI respect what Watford have done recently, they've been far better than results suggest but I will side with Hull here. They're desperate, need a win and I think they get one to keep the playoff race alive.
