Cardiff entertain Hull on Saturday afternoon in Wales, and they begin the week side by side in the league standings. Hull are above, with 58 points while Cardiff have 56, and Hull have a game in hand. That technically keeps them in the playoff race, though their recent form means I don't really believe they will get involved.
Cardiff Form GuideCardiff have been above expectations all season, and while they're not really left with anything to play for right now, I can still see them going along nicely and picking up a few points. Anywhere near the middle of the table for Cardiff would be seen as a really positive season.
Cardiff have three wins from their last five, with two defeats in the other two games. Their most recent game was a win, a 2-1 away success at playoff chasing Coventry. They suffered two defeats in a row before that, both 2-0, coming away at Swansea and at home to Sunderland.
Hull Form GuideHull were right in the playoff mix, and still are, but their recent form has been very poor. They are six points off the play offs, but have a game in hand, so that could be down to just three. But look at their form, they've failed to win any of their last six games, and yes, four draws have come in that, but it's still been poor.
They come here on the back of two defeats over the Easter weekend. On Monday, they lost 3-1 away at Leeds and then on Friday, they lost 2-0 at home against Stoke, a really disappointing outcome. As the going has got tough, Hull have struggled, and must bounce back immediately, if they are to have a playoff chance.
Match PredictionHull will feel like they have something to play for, but I don't think they do, and I definitely don't think they will after this game, as I am backing Cardiff to win this one. They've been above expectations, have nothing to play for, but are fancied to keep going, and are my pick for three points here.
