The Premier League is back with a full set of weekend fixtures as we return to regularly scheduled programming to begin the month of February. There are so many things up in the air at both ends of the table but hopefully, in the weeks ahead, we’ll start to get a bit more clarity. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fun clash between Sheffield United and Aston Villa.
Sheffield United Form GuideSheffield United fans know that they are the favourites for the drop and in a lot of ways, it feels like they don’t have much to lose because of that. Chris Wilder will do everything in his power to keep them in the top flight but they need a big shift in momentum in the next couple of months. Whether or not they can make that change, though, remains to be seen.
The Blades battled as hard as they could in their trip to take on Crystal Palace but unfortunately for them, it just wasn’t enough. They fell to a 3-2 defeat and when you take a look at the league table, things seem to be pretty bleak for the club right now.
Aston Villa Form GuideAston Villa fans are on cloud nine right now. They’re looking good in the Conference League, they are in the top four mix in the Premier League, and their home form is out of this world. The boys from the second city are absolutely flying under Unai Emery and if they can carry this momentum forward, there are a lot of options for the club - and they’re all pretty exciting.
For whatever reason, Villa just cannot seem to cope with Newcastle United this season. They had the majority of the possession at Villa Park on Tuesday but went 3-0 down within just 52 minutes, and only clawed one back in a 3-1 loss that surprised many.
Match PredictionSheffield United have a lot of spirit, but when you come up against a side with some real quality, it becomes difficult to overcome. We expect to see a pretty intense back and forth affair for long spells here, but when push comes to shove, our money is on an Aston Villa win.
