The Premier League returns once again this weekend as we continue to march through the first month of the new campaign. There’s still a whole lot we have to learn about all 20 teams involved in this season’s top flight, and on Sunday, we’ll find out more about Arsenal and Manchester United as they clash at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal Form GuideArsenal came close to finally reaching the top of the mountain last season, only to fall short at the final hurdle. They simply couldn’t keep up with City in the title race, but this time around, they’ll be hopeful that they can go one step further. Mikel Arteta knows and understands the scale of the task that lies ahead of him, but he has a really strong foundation in place.
The Gunners were forced to hold on in their opening game as they just about managed to squeak past Nottingham Forest in a 2-1 win. From there, they beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at Selhurst, before being held 2-2 by Fulham in a disappointing result.
Manchester United Form GuideManchester United supporters believe that their club is back - and we mean really back. They won a piece of silverware last season, finished third in the table, and reached another final. Erik ten Hag has got Old Trafford buzzing again and although there’s still a lot of work to be done before they can seriously compete with their neighbours, there are plenty of positive takeaways - so long as they regain their team cohesion.
United may have beaten Wolves in their opening Premier League fixture, but they were soon brought back down to earth in a 2-0 defeat courtesy of Tottenham. Then, after going 2-0 down against Nottingham Forest, they had to fight hard to claim a 3-2 comeback win.
Match PredictionThe rivalry between Arsenal and Manchester United speaks for itself and in a game like this, so early on in the season, it just feels like they’ll both be eager to make a statement - especially after recent setbacks. We’re expecting a real barnburner between two quality teams, ending in over 2.5 goals scored.
