It’s time for another international break as the countdown to this summer’s UEFA Euro 2024 tournament truly begins across the continent. Some nations are gearing up for a big run, whereas others didn’t make the cut and simply want to rebuild ahead of World Cup qualifying. Today, we’ll be taking a lo
ok at what should be a pretty entertaining encounter between Czech Republic and Armenia.
Czech Republic Form Guide
Czech Republic have failed to qualify for the World Cup since back in 2006. In the Euros, though, they’ve qualified at every available opportunity as an independent nation, dating all the way back to 1996. They’re a strange team to watch with that inconsistency being at the forefront of their identity, and based on recent evidence, we’d say they’ll make another strong play for the final tournament.
In their one and only appearance in the international break thus far, Czech Republic managed to defeat Norway 2-1 in what will serve as a big boost for their confidence.
Armenia Form Guide
As an independent nation, Armenia have never qualified for a major international tournament. They’ve come close on a few occasions, especially with regards to the Euros, but haven’t quite been able to get over the finish line. They may not be making their way to Germany next year, but who knows, maybe with a few tweaks they could start to make a bit more noise.
In their one and only appearance in the international break thus far, Armenia fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to Kosovo in a game that will give them plenty to contemplate.
Match Prediction
This is an interesting warm-up game for the Czechs heading into the summer, whereas for Armenia, a game like this could give them an insight into where their squad is currently at on the world stage. In terms of a proper prediction, we’re going to go for a Czech Republic victory.
