It’s time to get ready for the fourth round of the FA Cup as the oldest club competition in the world begins to really heat up. There are 32 teams left in the mix as we continue the road to Wembley, with many of them believing that they’re in with a real shot of making it all the way. Today, we’ll take a look at what should be a fun clash between Bournemouth and Swansea City.
Bournemouth Form GuideWith new owners and a new manager comes great uncertainty in the Premier League - but thankfully for Bournemouth fans, it feels as if they’re slowly but surely starting to turn this ship around. A nice run of form recently has led many to believe that they have what it takes to push away from the relegation zone, which could free them up for a nice FA Cup run.
In the third round, the Cherries appeared to be staring elimination in the face when they went 2-0 down to QPR. Alas, they didn’t allow themselves to be down in the dumps, and they fought back with everything they had to eventually earn a mammoth 3-2 victory.
Swansea Form GuideThe days of Swansea City being a consistent force in the top flight of English football are gone (for now), but the Welsh side are still a force to be reckoned with on their best day. They’re currently lingering around midtable in the Championship but in a league like that, you never know whether you’re going to push up or fall down - which is why the FA Cup is a great distraction for them.
Swansea entered the competition at the third round stage and, for the most part, they didn’t have a lot of difficulty. They went head to head with Morecambe and despite a spirited performance from the underdogs, the Swans picked up a 2-0 win.
Match PredictionSwansea are going to bring a strong following to the south coast and so they should, given the stakes involved in a tie like this. We expect to see them give the hosts all kinds of problems but ultimately, we do believe that the most likely outcome is a Bournemouth win.
