We are heading into the FA Cup 3rd round weekend, and we've got some great clashes on the board to enjoy. Blackburn host Cambridge in this one, a game that puts together a Championship side and a team from League One. Blackburn are big favourites, but as we see in this competition, there's always the chance of an upset.
Blackburn Form GuideBlackburn are currently going on a really poor run of form in the Championship and to be honest, right now they look a little vulnerable. They have slipped all the way down to 17th in the standings, this was after being a playoff team not too long ago. The reason has been their most recent form, where they have lost four and drawn one of their last five games.
The draw came on Monday, but it was a 2-2 tie with bottom club Rotherham, and at home, a game that Blackburn really should be winning. Losses to Hull, Huddersfield, Watford and Southampton came before that, as part of their slide down the table.
Cambridge United Form GuideCambridge are in the bottom half of League One right now, in 18th place and with 27 points on the board. They are four clear of Exeter, who currently hold onto the final relegation spot in the league, so will be looking over their shoulder at those behind them.
They ended the festive period with a win and two losses, but their form wasn't too bad. The win came against Exeter, a team below them so a good win. They then lost to Oxford, who are going along really nicely in the playoffs, and Leyton Orient, another team doing ok, so it's not a disaster by any means.
Match PredictionConsidering their recent form, Blackburn offer terrible value here, so I am going to oppose them. I will take Cambridge to win or draw this game, on the double chance market, which is nice value to cause a shock against a side who haven't won in their last five.
