Rotherham United are already confirmed as heading back to League One at the end of this season, but have three games to go in the Championship before that. But this week they've moved to find a manager for next season, with Steve Evans returning to the club, he will take charge on Saturday, when Rotherham welcome Birmingham, who need all the points they can get as they sit just ahead of the relegation zone.
Rotherham Form GuideThere's nothing to play for this season at Rotherham, but with Steve Evans already here, players will be looking to make an impression and show him what they can do, with an eye to being involved next season. That could bring about some better performances over the last three games of this campaign.
The Millers come here on the back of three losses in a row, and to make those worse, they have failed to score in them all. Last weekend, it was a 1-0 defeat at Swansea, before that, they lost 2-0 at West Brom and 1-0 at home to Plymouth, so Evans will probably have scoring a goal down as his first task.
Birmingham Form GuideJust when Birmingham appeared to be on the slide, they bagged a vital win last weekend to keep their head above water. Three games to go and they are outside of the relegation zone, but only by one point, and they have two sides behind trying to chase them down, so this is going down to the wire.
City won 3-0 at home to Coventry last weekend, a surprise result and probably taking advantage of the fact that Coventry have a huge FA Cup semi final this weekend, that they were already thinking about. Defeats to Cardiff 1-0 and Leicester 2-1 came before that.
Match PredictionWhile the Steve Evans impact at Rotherham should be positive, his team have nothing to play for still, and Birmingham have it all to play for. I am going with the away side here to get a huge three points in their quest for survival.
