Three of the ten games from Serie A this weekend take place on Saturday, and we build up to the final game on the day, which is this one featuring AC Milan and Fiorentina. Heading into the weekend, it's 3rd v 6th, three points separate the teams and Fiorentina could go above AC Milan with a win, and could be in the top four if other things go their way.
AC Milan Form GuideThird placed AC Milan have been going along nicely, with seven wins from 12 league games, although the spark hasn't quite been there recently for them. They won seven of eight to begin, and are now four league games without a win, leaving them eight points behind rivals Inter Milan in the race for the title, a run they would love to stop on their return to action this weekend.
Two losses and two draws have come in that four game run. They drew away at Lecce and away at Napoli, both by the same scoreline of 2-2. Losses have been at home to Udinese and at home to Juvents. They have won a Champions League game recently though, beaten PSG 2-1 at home, and will be looking for more of that here.
Fiorentina Form GuideSixth so far in the league, that's about where I had Fiorentina down for finishing, good enough to challenge for Europe, but not quite good enough to be in the top four race. Six wins from 12 gives them 20 points, one win less than AC Milan and three points less on the table.
But they do come here on the back of a league win, which is a positive. They won 2-1 at home to Bologna before the break. They did lose three league games in a row before that though, 1-0 to Juventus and Lazio, and 2-0 to Empoli, so it's not all been good for this side.
Match PredictionI don't think there will be much between these two, but despite a few bumps recently, I am siding with AC Milan to win the game. I think they have a quality edge here, and hopefully, we see that this weekend.
