Every week is exciting in the iGaming world and this one was no exception. We had to sift through a vast amount of information before sharing some of the most intriguing ones, but it was worth it. The team at Nostrabet.com has included all of the intriguing stories from the past week. That’s why it is time to dive deep into each one and see what happened.
There is a Match-Fixing Awareness Course in Brazil
Brazil has become one of the world’s most popular destinations for online betting in 2025. The country changed its gambling legislation and welcomed tons of new operators. However, this also brought some issues, one of which is match fixing.
It seems like the authorities are taking this very seriously because the Brazilian Olympic Committee created a new course. According to our data, its goal is to raise awareness about match-fixing and how it impacts sport’s integrity.
Anyone wishing to complete the course can do so in approximately an hour. It is free for athletes and coaches, as well as referees and administration. Alongside sharing more details about match-fixing, participants are also introduced to broader principles of fair play and responsible gaming.
Spain to Host the first International Gaming Congress

Spain has become the first country in Europe to host a congress called “the Social Impact of Gaming”. The latter brings together government officials, operators, as well as associations and international exports and their goal is to discuss the social impact of gambling. What’s also interesting is that the congress itself will be in a bilingual format.
Spain is slowly becoming one of Europe’s largest online gambling markets. Locals have access to multiple world-class sites and it seems like they want to raise awareness about everything in the industry.
Safer Gambling Week 2025
The UK and Ireland have an event called Safer Gambling Week 2025 and it runs from 17 to 23 November. Led by the Betting and Gaming Council, the Lotteries Council and the Bingo Association, and BACTA, the event’s goal is to discuss the different responsible gambling options. It also aims to raise awareness about the specific individual tools that people can use to stay in control.
People who attend the event can learn more about things like self-exclusion, deposit limits, and other options. It is also possible to find information about reflective prompts that will help bettors access their own behaviour.
One of the reasons for the Safer Gambling Week 2025 is the stats. It seems like more than 1.5m different people used at least one of the responsible gambling tools in 2024. This marks a 22% increase from the previous year. The UK remains the largest online gambling market in Europe. It also seems to be the one with the most problem gamblers.
GambleAware Has New Tools to Help Neurodivergent People

There has been recent research that revealed that people who have ADHD, autism, or similar conditions face an increased chance of having different gambling-related issues. In response, GambleAware created special resources designed to improve the situation for individuals like these.
According to the research, neurodivergent individuals may engage with gambling for all kinds of reasons, and they are at risk. Hyperfocus, impulsivity, and other things can contribute to problematic gambling behaviours.
The new tools include special options designed for therapists and practitioners who work with clients experiencing these issues. We are happy that entities like GambleAware are taking this seriously, and it shows that responsible gambling is more important now than ever before.
Sands China Opened a Responsible Gaming Academy
Sands China decided to launch a new Responsible Gaming Academy and even signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Macau’s university. Their idea is to strengthen the cooperation in the field of responsible gaming. Based on the information we have, the academy offers theory with practical application.
LiveScore Bet Partnered with Dimitar Berbatov for the Play With Control Campaign

LiveScore Bet decided to launch a brand new responsible gambling campaign. Play With Control aims to raise awareness around responsible gambling, and it is led by none other than Dimitar Berbatov. The Bulgarian is the company’s European Brand Ambassador and he is a former English Premier League player. He was a part of Manchester United, Tottenham, and many other teams.
The campaign itself is focusing on Safer Gambling Week, which we mentioned in the UK and Ireland. It targets sports bettors and highlights the importance of maintaining control while playing. In fact, this is one of the big reasons why the company chose Dimitar Berbatov. He was famous for his ability to stay calm under pressure.
This initiative from LiveScore Bet is just another step in the company’s recent growth. Earlier this year, the brand opened its new playbook football in the UK and Nigeria. We also expect to see it in other parts of the world.
Apparat partnered with Bwin in Germany
Apparat is one of the lesser-known iGaming studios, but it seems like this is about to change. The company entered into an agreement with Bwin that will allow the latter to offer 43 different slots to all users in Germany. Alongside all of the existing titles, such as Total Eclipse XXL, 5 Moon Wolf, and others, Bwin will also have access to all future releases.
An interesting fact is that the supplier only has 54 games in total so far and only 43 of them are available in Germany. Following this partnership, however, we would not be surprised if the brand comes up with a lot more that we can choose from.
Endorphina to Enter the Market in Slovakia

Endorphina is one of the old-school casino software providers whose games are available in several countries. The software supplier has confirmed it will enter Slovakia’s regulated market after its products went through the mandatory approval process. It seems like all games meet the fairness, data protection and tech stability requirements set by the Slovak authorities.
Following the entry to this market, Endorphina is now available in more than 54 countries. This is not the end because the brand aims to become available in even more regions and countries in the future.
Endorphina’s arrival in Slovakia comes at a time when the local authorities recently liberalized the gambling laws in the country. With that said, the changes are not active yet because Slovakia’s president decided to veto them. We will keep a close eye on this case to see what happens, but from the looks of it, Slovakia will join many other European countries whose gambling laws are more liberal.
Indonesia wants Cloudflare to Block Illegal Online Gambling Sites
In a press conference in Jakarta, Indonesia’s Minister of Communication and Digitalisation requested Cloudflare to help the government in its battle against illegal online gambling sites by blocking them. This shows the country’s first stance against iGaming.
The request comes after it became clear that more than 76% of all illegal sites rely on Cloudflare’s services to operate in Indonesia. They utilize the company’s IP address masking and domain transfers, which appear to be working more effectively than the country’s continent-blocking software.
Aside from that, the minister also requires Cloudflare to register with the authorities in Indonesia. The company received a 14-day deadline to do that and comply with the local legislation. We will have to wait and see if something will come out of that.
Australia’s Illegal Gambling Market Reaches 36%
Australia seems to be one of the countries that has serious issues with illegal online gambling. Based on the most recent stats, 36% of the country’s online gambling is now offshore and Australians lose close to $3.9b AUD per year to operators without a permit. This research comes from the Gambling Capital for Responsible Wagering Australia, which also represents all regulated betting companies in the country.
Unless something changes, the forecasts show that the losses will reach over $5B AUD by 2029. What’s more, the government will lose out on over $2B AUD in tax revenue over the same period of time.
These statistics are disturbing, to say the least, so we expect the Australian authorities to take action and do something. Offshore operators have an unfair advantage over regulated brands because they often avoid taxes and fail to comply with local regulations. They also do not invest in safer gambling, and this allows them to offer better prices.
Nepal Released Stricter Gaming Rules and blocked many Online Casinos
Nepal is definitely not one of the countries that gets into the news when it comes to online gambling. However, the recent decision regarding the strict gambling rules has to be mentioned.
According to the news, Nepal’s government decided to introduce stricter regulations on casinos. All operators wishing to offer their services in the country must comply with the Anti-Money Laundering Act and all the rules it imposes.
Casinos also have to submit special AML and CFT documentation. Additionally, casinos won’t be permitted to conduct any foreign currency transactions without prior approval from the Nepal Rastra Bank. All of this comes at a time when online gambling is gaining huge popularity in the country.
