The last of three Serie A games to kick off on Saturday sees AC Milan host Bologna. Both sides are in the top third of the table, AC Milan begin the weekend in 3rd, Bologna in 7th after a recent poor run that has seen them take a small slide down the standings.
AC Milan Form GuideThird in the standings, though something is going to have to change quickly if AC Milan are to get up in the title race. They've got 45 points on the board, which makes them seven behind Juventus who are currently top, but should Inter Milan win their game in hand, they go top and with a bigger margin that would be nine.
But all they can do is keep winning, and they've won their last four in the league, to keep the pressure on, and grow the gap between them and those behind. They won 3-2 away at Udinese last weekend and before that, picked up a really nice 3-1 home win over Roma, this is amongst the best they've played all season.
Bologna Form GuideBologna made a really good start to the new season and found themselves in the top four for a small period of that, but they've not been as good recently, and have slipped away. They begin the weekend in 7th, a position they will still be pleased with, but it's all because of their recent form.
They come here on the back of three league games without a win, resulting in two defeats and one draw during that period. The draw was in the middle, a home tie with Genoa, but either side of that, they've lost 3-0 away at Udinese and most recently, 2-1 away at Cagliari, both sides down in the relegation battle.
Match PredictionI really like the chances of AC Milan here. At their best, there's not too much between these, but right now, we are seeing close to the best of AC Milan, whereas we are seeing nothing like their best from Bologna, in a tough run, so it's AC Milan to win it for me.
