The Championship is back this weekend following the international break and we've got one game on Friday night to kick things off. It's a Yorkshire Derby, with high flying Leeds, a team moving in the right direction, travelling to take on lowly Rotherham, a team very much moving in the wrong direction.
Rotherham Form GuideManagerless Rotherham return from the international break looking to kick on and pull themselves out of the relegation zone. But the task ahead of them is huge, quite simply put, four points off safety, four games without a win, and the biggest issue they have at the moment is that they have no manager in charge.
Just two wins from 16 games, I would argue that the only reason Rotherham are not in deep trouble at the moment and further adrift, is because there's a few teams that are equally as bad as them. Before the international break, they lost 5-0 away at Watford, the final nail in the coffin for manager Matty Taylor, and without a leader, this team needs to try and bounce back from that, up against one of the best teams in the league.
Leeds Form GuideI'm of the opinion that Leeds, as they are built now, are one of the top two or three sides in the Championship. January is going to be interesting, to see who they keep and how much they spend, but they may have to do something, because an average start has left them well behind the league leaders.
Leeds are in third, eight points behind Ipswich in second and Leicester in first. Leicester have lost their last two, so Leeds have closed the gap, but it is still a big gap. They've won three in a row, including beating Leicester, a massive confidence boost if ever they needed one, and won 2-1 at home to Plymouth last time out.
Match PredictionA Yorkshire Derby, big at both sides of the table, but I have to go with the away team Leeds here. Flying high at the top, they face Rotherham, who are a ship without a captain right now, and with that, I'll take Leeds to get the three points.
