Burnley and Ipswich will battle it out once again this week with the winner earning a place in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Burnley Form GuideThe resurgence of Burnley Football Club has been pretty remarkable so far this season. The Clarets have looked like a completely different team to the one that went down less than a year ago and under the guidance of Vincent Kompany, they already look like certainties to gain promotion from the Championship and back into the big time.
Since the start of the year, Burnley have been fairly flawless. Aside from the 0-0 draw at Portman Road, they have won every single game they’ve played in 2023 with Swansea, Bournemouth, Coventry, West Brom and Norwich all falling.
Ipswich Form GuideThe sleeping giant that is Ipswich Town continues to push for a route out of the third tier. The Tractor Boys are ready for more than what they’ve got and although they are on the right track towards promotion from League One, you never know what the Football League can have in store. As such, this FA Cup run could be huge for their confidence.
While they have beaten Rotherham and Morecambe this year, scoring four goals in either game, Ipswich haven’t been all too fortunate on the pitch. They have drawn with Cambridge and Plymouth to go alongside the Burnley result, and they’ve also been beaten away at Oxford.
Latest Team NewsThere are likely to be a handful of changes for Burnley with the injury list currently featuring Manuel, Muric, Harwood-Bellis and, crucially, Jay Rodriguez.
Hladky is set to come into the starting XI for Walton and in other news, Hirst and Harness are also backed to feature from the first minute.
Match PredictionThe Clarets can afford to get excited about where the cup could take them this season given their advantage in the league. We do think Ipswich will bring a passionate fanbase to go alongside a gritty performance, but ultimately, we’re going for a Burnley win.
