Following a month of domestic action across the continent to kickstart the new season, it’s time for the first international break of the campaign. It’s full steam ahead to UEFA Euro 2024 next summer but until then, we have to figure out who will be there. Today, we’ll be taking a look at this week’s qualifier between Kazakhstan and Northern Ireland.
Norway Form GuideThey haven’t qualified for the European Championship in over 20 years and they’ve hardly made an impact on the world stage throughout their history. It’s strange, then, that there’s such optimism for this Norway squad right now. They have some world class stars at their disposal and if they can harness that in the correct manner, a spot at Euro 2024 should be on the table.
A friendly game was how the Norwegians opened up the international break as they went head to head with Jordan. It was a really interesting battle of styles between the two - for about five minutes, before Norway ran out convincing 6-0 winners.
Georgia Form GuideThey haven’t always been known for their football prowess. With that being said, Georgia have been making some real progress across the last few years. They are no longer viewed as a nation that can be walked over and at one point, qualification for Euro 2020 seemed incredibly plausible. Now, it’s all about taking that positive energy into another really big campaign.
Georgia, as a national team, are at a point whereby they should feel pretty confident about their qualification chances. Unfortunately, that mentality fell apart in a huge way against Spain as they slipped to a humbling 7-1 defeat.
Match PredictionBoth teams will be feeling a little bit desperate at this stage in qualifying, and understandably so. They both have star attractions but neither have been given the benefit of that impacting their overall play or success. Therefore, we’re going to go for a result that the Scots will love - a draw.
