The Premier League returns for another weekend of action up and down the country. The top flight of English football is as competitive as it has ever been, with nobody really knowing what direction most of the 20 clubs will go in this season. Today, we’ll be previewing what should be a fascinating encounter between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
Tottenham Form GuideTottenham Hotspur fans are enjoying life under Big Ange and they have every reason to feel that way. While losing Harry Kane was certainly detrimental, their style of football has been improving each and every time they’ve played. The big question is whether or not they’re able to sustain that, especially given how competitive things are within the top clubs in the division.
Spurs began the month with a dominant 5-2 win over Burnley to really highlight their intentions this season. From there, they came from behind to shock and defeat Sheffield United in injury time, before earning a valuable point against Arsenal in the North London derby.
Liverpool Form GuideLiverpool fans are rejoicing at the fact that Jurgen Klopp has, seemingly, been able to reinvent the midfield in a strong way, giving them the opportunity to start fresh. It’s a case of so far, so good for the Reds but there are still plenty of ways in which this can go south, especially if the injury bug comes back to bite them as it has done over the course of the last few years.
September, up to this point, has been pretty much perfect for Liverpool. They battered Aston Villa 3-0 at the start of the month before rattling off four straight 3-1 wins across three competitions against Wolves, LASK, West Ham and Leicester.
Match PredictionTwo in-form teams going at it in front of a sold out, electric crowd? Yeah, sign us up. Tottenham and Liverpool both look great to kickstart the season and we really don’t think there’s a whole lot to separate them, with our prediction being over 2.5 goals scored.
