The Premier League returns this weekend following the international break as we continue with the run-in toward the end of the campaign. There’s still plenty left to fight for at both ends of the table, and it feels like we’re going to get a few more answers over the course of the next few days. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be an intriguing clash between Manchester City and Arsenal.
Manchester City Form GuideManchester City are once again considered to be the clear favourites to win the Premier League title, and it’s not hard to see why. Pep Guardiola has built an absolute juggernaut of a squad and as we look ahead to the future, you’d have to imagine that the only big question mark is surrounding the punishment they could receive for their financial charges off the pitch.
Following wins over Bournemouth, Luton, Manchester United and Copenhagen, City were held to a 1-1 draw on the road against Liverpool. They did, however, bounce back in style, picking up a comfortable 2-0 win over Newcastle in the FA Cup.
Arsenal Form GuideWhile Arsenal are certainly still considered one of the favourites for the title, recent form suggests they aren’t ahead of Manchester City or Liverpool right now. Mikel Arteta knows where the weak spots are in his side and hopefully, he’s made the most of the time off they’ve had. Now, it’s a case of seeing how the Gunners can respond on the pitch in the weeks ahead.
Over the course of two legs, Arsenal were able to edge past Porto with a nice penalty shootout victory. Alongside that, they’ve also picked up some big wins in the league against Burnley, Newcastle, Sheffield United and, most recently, Brentford.
Match PredictionThis has the potential to be the game of the season and as we know, City will be really hungry for revenge after what happened in the reverse fixture. We anticipate a tight game that’s really open at both ends of the pitch, and in terms of a prediction, we’re going to shoot for over 2.5 goals scored.
