The first international break of the season is over and now, it’s time to get back to business as the English Premier League returns for a brand new slate of fixtures across September. There’s still a lot we don’t know about all 20 clubs in the top flight but we’ll get some more answers this weekend, as we get set to see Wolverhampton Wanderers lock horns with Liverpool.
Everton Form GuideEverton fans have spent the last few years dreading the possibility of a one-way trip to the Championship after decades of top flight football. The Toffees’ anxiety makes a lot of sense when you take a look at their squad, and they’re really struggling to convince anyone that this season is going to be any different as they continue to struggle across the board.
Simply put, the season has gone poorly thus far for Everton. They lost their first three league games to Fulham, Aston Villa and Wolves by an aggregate score of 6-0, they just about managed to beat Doncaster in the League Cup, and they only managed a 2-2 draw away at Sheffield United.
Arsenal Form GuideArsenal came close to finally reaching the top of the mountain last season, only to fall short at the final hurdle. They simply couldn’t keep up with City in the title race, but this time around, they’ll be hopeful that they can go one step further. Mikel Arteta knows and understands the scale of the task that lies ahead of him, but he has a really strong foundation in place.
The Gunners edged past Nottingham Forest to start the season with a 2-1 win before a narrow triumph over Crystal Palace. From there, they were held to a surprising 2-2 draw by Fulham, but they rebounded in dramatic fashion by defeating Manchester United 3-1 at the Emirates.
Match PredictionEverton have stunned big teams at Goodison Park before, and even during this run of mediocrity they’ve been enduring. Still, we feel as if the Gunners have learnt from some of their mistakes last season, which is one of the reasons why we’re going to back an Arsenal win.
